Join us next Tuesday, September 15th, for Helping Hands: Quilts for the Community Sew-in.

We’ll gather in the lower level of the shop from 1:00–4:00 PM to work on quilts to donate to local organizations, including Laurie’s House, Steps to End Domestic Violence, the Lund Home, the Respite House, and the Refugee Resettlement Center.

We’ll prep backings, sandwich quilts, sew bindings, and tackle whatever needs doing. All skill levels are welcome. Bring your sewing machine if you’d like, or jump in on one of the many non-machine jobs. We provide tables, irons, cutting mats, and even help carry your machine downstairs if needed.

Stop in for the afternoon or just pop by to see what we’re working on. Bring a lunch or grab something from a nearby café and spend a few hours stitching for a good cause.

Questions? Send us a message or email [email protected].

We’d love to see you there!

Saturday, September 19th is National Jelly Roll Day, and we're celebrating with Karen Abrahamovich for her Waste Not Want Not class. Karen will walk students through her pattern that turns a jelly roll into a beautiful throw quilt. The technique also works with layer cakes or scraps, which means you can make a new and different quilt every time you have fabric to use up.

Class starts at 1pm and goes until 5pm. Like all of our other classes, enrolled students receive 20% off all class materials. Find out more information and grab your seat today at

What if you did not know what your quilt would look like until the very last class?

That is the idea behind our 2026 Fall Mystery Quilt Class with Judy Thomas. Over eight sessions starting September 19th, you will build your quilt piece by piece, following step-by-step instructions each time you meet, without ever seeing the full picture. The design is revealed only in the final session.

Judy has been designing mystery quilts for years and has built a devoted following for them here in Vermont and well beyond. Eight sessions, one big reveal, and $25 to get started.

September 19, October 3, October 17, November 7, December 5, January 9, January 23, and February 6. All sessions at 10:00 am at the shop in Essex Junction.

Save your seat at the link.
