Ferndale Repertory Theatre is shivering with antici... pation to announce auditions for The Rocky Horror Picture Show Shadow Cast! Shadow Cast directed by Cocky Muffington

Join us this Halloween as we bring the 1975 cult classic to life with a full shadow cast performing in front of the film: complete with film-inspired looks, dancing, lip syncing, audience shoutouts, prop bags, pre-show games, and plenty of wonderfully weird Rocky Horror fun.

These are come-as-you-are auditions -- no prepared material required! We’ll show you a section of the movie and ask you to lip sync, act, dance, and recreate what you see onscreen. Please wear clothing and shoes you can move safely and confidently in.

We’re looking for first-time performers, experienced actors, dancers, drag and burlesque artists, Rocky Horror super fans, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and anyone excited to collaborate in celebrating this campy q***r classic. No singing is required and no previous experience is necessary!

Can’t make it in person? Video auditions are welcome through Friday, September 4. Prepare a two-minute lip sync filmed in front of the movie that includes lines, singing, and dancing, and send it to [email protected] .

Rehearsals begin September 16 with weekday evening rehearsals through October. Performances are October 30 & 31 at 7:30 PM. Not all performers are called for every rehearsal. Learn more at ferndalerep.org/auditions

Don't Dream It. Be It!

🖤 GOODBYE TO ONE OF THE GREAT WEIRD ONES — TIM CURRY 🖤

Some actors play characters.

Tim Curry became them.

He could be hilarious, terrifying, wicked, charming, completely unhinged — and somehow make you love every damn second of it.

He gave us the unforgettable Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and then turned around and scared the absolute hell out of an entire generation as Pennywise in IT. 🎈

And that barely scratches the surface.

Clue. Legend. Annie. Home Alone 2.
The stage. The music. That voice. That grin.

There was only one Tim Curry.

He made being strange look fabulous. He made villains fun. He made horror theatrical. And he helped give generations of us weirdos a place where being a little different wasn't something to hide — it was something to celebrate.

That's one hell of a legacy.

So tonight maybe we put on Rocky Horror, throw some IT into the mix, and raise a little hell for the man who gave us both nightmares and one hell of a good time.

Dolly means a lot here at The Costume Box, and we saddened by the news of her passing. Our friend, Peter, even made a costume piece for her. This is how we will remember the Icon and Saint. Indeed, the best of us.

It's Back To School time! Teachers and students needing to dress for a presentation, we are here for you. Oral reports on historical figures is a specialty in The Box. With a little help from our professionals, you just might get an A.

We were honored to host an elementary school class of 22 students from Orleans last Friday afternoon. We enjoyed having you. Fun was had by all. Of course we had a fashion show. Come back now, ya hear?
