Thanks to everyone who came out for The Gathering this weekend!

We enjoyed our one week of getting out of the horse barn and back into the shop, getting creative with all the paints and tools and cowhides and upcycled pieces.

My cold weather workshop progress continues! This five-piece set is just about done.

At first, we tried a new product on the natural wood tops but I just wasn’t happy with the result so they are getting sanded again and redone with my traditional process.

If you have a furniture rehab project or kitchen cabinets that need a spruce-up with paint before spring, now is the time to schedule! I will be able to accept limited projects that can be completed before the end of March. After that, the horse barn just gets too busy for shop time!

Usually I am booked up with horseback clients and students at cbrackethorsebarn, but the winter chill has rescheduled them to warmer days later on. The last three days have been ideal for spending in the workshop under the heater!

This custom teal and chevron six-piece set is getting a stately update in Dixie Belle’s Collard Greens, with a fresh dark stain to accent on the tops. They have been hanging out here for a while, and today is their day!

Project completed!

My industrial sewing machine likes to remind me who’s boss - and it’s not me! Yesterday quite a bit of my workroom time was spent troubleshooting. This afternoon went much better!

Our forlorn living room chair finally has some pretty, comfy cushions for relaxing in front of the wood fire.

On a single digit Saturday we are taking some time in the shelter of the warm shop! First we diagnosed a problem with our old feed tractor, and now we are making cushions for a living room chair.

This chair has sat waiting for a long time! It’s now a more main part of our wood stove seating area, so we’re trying to get this project fixed up in a day!
