When I was pregnant with our first child, my mom threw a baby shower for us at the Boston Public Library. She had made two quilts for our soon-to-enter-the-world baby boy. They were so special, designed perfectly to fit the nursery I’d been dreaming up for him. When I opened these gifts, my cousin - now an adult like me - said that she still had the baby quilt that my mom had made for her before she was born and she still treasured it. It was then that I realized what a privilege it was to have such a special heirloom for my baby and I had the spark of the idea for Petal and Branch.
We’re a mother-daughter team that started Petal and Branch out of a passion for fabric, good design, and family heirlooms that are meant to be used and loved. All of our items are designed and handmade in New England in limited edition collections designed around our Quilts.
Quilts have a long history of warmth, comfort, family tradition, and craftsmanship that inspires us. Our heirloom quilts are meant to be passed down from one generation to the next.
