They will blame the colonizer forever. But who is killing whom right now?

Colonialism was a crime. That is not the debate. The debate is what happens after the crime — and why Africans keep burning their own houses down.

The 1994 Rwandan genocide killed nearly one million people in 100 days. Hutu against Tutsi. Neighbor against neighbor. The colonial Belgian administration had weaponized that divide — but by 1994, Belgium had been gone for 34 years.

South Sudan. Ethiopia's Tigray war. Nigeria's endless ethno-religious fractures. The Democratic Republic of Congo. The pattern repeats.

Colonialism planted the seed. But tribalism became the water.

The harder truth is this: colonial borders were drawn by outsiders, but ethnic hatred is maintained by insiders. Every rigged election justified by tribe. Every contract awarded by bloodline. Every coup cheered because "our people" are finally in power.

This is not an attack on African identity. This is a demand for African honesty.

Because no IMF loan, no reparation, and no foreign policy shift will fix what we refuse to diagnose.
