This weekend we give thanks to the makers, the crafters, the workers. We were once a country that “made things.” We valued the toil. The grit. The persistence.
We found these old 4x5 slide images tucked away in a folder from when we were still called Shelburne Shirt. Our factory once employed 1,000 workers and produced 3 million shirts a year.
Orders were counted in dozens, not units. Boxes were stacked high. We are smaller now, but we are still at it. The wisdom, pride, and collective effort to produce products of a higher quality.
Thanks to all those who continue to build, make, and, and produce in the US and especially in New England.
