Had the pleasure and honor of watching host the Global Women’s Summit. When I studied broadcast journalism at the University of Maryland, I dreamed of being a sports broadcaster—and she embodies everything I aspired to be. Beautiful, well-spoken, poised, successful, and an all-around badass. Forever fan-girling. 💛✨

Sippin’ tea and staying unbothered 😌💅🏾✨ because drama doesn’t go with my outfit.

had a great 💻device giveaway 💻 today, thanks to the hard work of this young man. Yvangela, one of today’s participants, said something to me that made me smile. 🥰 She was so impressed by Keenan’s professionalism, politeness and proceeded to commend me on doing a great job with raising him. She didn’t know how much I needed to hear that. 🙏🏾 Obviously, no child is perfect and navigating his teenage years with him have been FAR from easy. But despite the challenges, I’m so proud to say I’m Keenan’s mom. 💛
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made today’s Device Giveaway a success. We provided devices and digital literacy training to 10 DC residents at the Bellevue/ William Lockridge Neighborhood library. Each laptop recipient also received a handmade necklace made from Maasai women of Tanzania and Kenya. The saying “Each one, teach one” is an African proverb that originated in America during slavery when Africans were denied education. If someone learned how to read or write, it became their responsibility to teach someone else.
We continue the tradition through our cultural exchange program focused on the arts and technology with our Each One, Teach One Community. Stay tuned for our next giveaway!
