Hi, I’m Lilly
I grew up on Cape Cod, spent a few years in Boston at the New England Institute of Art but then moved back to the Cape after graduation to help care for my mom who has been living with primary progressive MS since I was about 11.
My mom has always been artist herself, creating mosaics out of discarded ceramics when we were kids and continuing to paint even when her mobility was so limited that we had to Velcro the paintbrush into her hand.
I continued to care for my mom since then to help my dad make his way toward retirement after almost 40 years as an oceanographer in Woods Hole.
I married my husband Shawn, we bought a house a mile away from my parents and now have two amazing daughters
Now that my dad has retired and our girls are older, I have a bit more time to make my own art & create with them. We’ve tried many mediums but my favorite is using vintage and discarded textiles to create something new and functional.
Over the past few years we’ve created many items from baby mobiles and bunnies to aprons, bows and linocut prints.
But the most popular item has definitely been our bags.
So we’ve decided to narrow our focus this year and try to make a ton of bags for you, maybe some pants if we can develop the perfect pattern. But sticking with wearable art and trying to get our pieces into some local shops.
I do have a few mobiles on my list that I will be finishing this winter but won’t be taking on any new commissions. Thank you to all who have ordered in the past, I’ve loved making them for you!
If you’ve made it this far into the post, I’m sending you a virtual hug. Thanks for being here and please share this post! It’s the best way for us to find our people 🫶🏻
