Job Description
Sterling Optical is looking for a Full-time or Part-time Optician to join our Optical team as our business continues to grow! Part-time position hours vary based on your class schedule. If you are taking a gap year before starting optometry school or medical school, this would be the perfect opportunity for you!
As an optician, your job duties would include, but are not limited to:
Assist patients with eyeglass frame selection
Assist patients with spectacle lens selection, including materials, coatings, tints, and treatments
Assist patients with contact lens selection, education, and care
Assess and interpret patient financial options, including insurance and vision plan benefits, discount plans, charitable options, coupons, promotions, and payment plans
Take frame and facial measurements, make repairs and/or adjustments to eyewear.
Arrange and maintain merchandising of displays
Our ideal candidate would have the following traits:
Must be pleasant, positive and welcoming to patients in person, on the phone, and through other communication methods such as email and text
Must be able to gain proficiency in computer programs quickly and accurately
Must be a team player

Optician/Optical Retail experience is preferred, but not required.
