Meet Baraka—a beautifully understated open-front layering jacket, filled with thoughtful details and a story woven through time.

Baraka is made from never-used vintage handwoven raw silk dating back to the 1960s. The silk was produced through a traditional process—from raising silkworms and carefully reeling the silk from their cocoons to weaving each length of cloth by hand. The naturally uneven silk threads create a rich, organic texture that modern industrial fabrics simply cannot reproduce.

Layers of moss, olive, and jade green come together through carefully considered patchwork and delicate hand stitching. A handcrafted tulip-shaped brooch adds a small sculptural accent. It is completely removable and can be repositioned anywhere on the garment—or taken off entirely—to create a different look.

The silhouette is relaxed and simple, but every detail has been intentionally designed and beautifully finished. Baraka is a truly versatile piece made for all four seasons. Wear it over a simple tank top as a lightweight summer layer, style it effortlessly through spring and fall, or pair it with a wool or cashmere turtleneck in winter.

From a single silk thread, to a handwoven cloth, to a garment made for today—Baraka carries the beauty of the past into the present.

Truly one of a kind. Only one available at JOY STUDIO.
