Orange Cat Co. In 2016, I apprenticed as a tailor to supplement my career and interest in historical fashion. The name is an ode to my sewing companion, my orange cat.

What began as a side gig eventually became my main focus and I organized Orange Cat LLC in 2025.

A little personal history in honor of America’s 250th anniversary—

My first ancestors to step foot in America were Anne and William Hutchinson, arriving in Boston in 1634 aboard a ship called the Griffin. If you know your history, you may know that Anne is famous in her own right—but what interested me about William is that he was a merchant in the textile trade.

I always wondered where I got my love of sewing—it appears that after nearly 400 years, the love of fabric and clothing is still innate in our bloodline.
