01/16/2026
2016. I was 38, about 20 pounds lighter, and living in my 1960s house in So California.
That year I started a fashion blog.
I started doing closet edits.
I started selling Cabi clothing.
It was the first time I realized I could combine three things I loved:
styling, selling, and fashion photography.
Looking back now, I can see how many firsts were happening for me then — even if I didn’t fully understand it at the time.
2026.
I’m older. I’m heavier. I’m living in a house we built in the beautiful NW Arkansas (my birth state)
But I also have more experience, more confidence, and a much deeper understanding of myself — which is what finally helped me understand my personal style in a way that actually feels like me.
I almost didn’t do one of these “2016 vs now” posts because I didn’t want to look back.
I was afraid I’d feel sad.
Afraid I’d think I was happier then.
And honestly? A lot happens in ten years.
But I decided to share this because that version of me matters.
She’s what got me here.
Now I’m more interested in today and tomorrow.
When I think about 2036, I don’t think about going backward.
I think about becoming — more grounded, more whole, and closer to the life I’m meant for. 😉
