We’ve been overwhelmed with all the orders & support over the last 2+ weeks. We never expected so many orders from you all🙌🏼. Those of you who haven’t received your items yet, please hold tight - I’m still working to get all the items out. Again, a huge Thank You to everyone🖤. American Native has ended well, and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

A truer color representation than what was posted in our story. We’ll always be suckers for raw denim fades. Should I do some patchwork and repurpose these 2 aprons I have? Any interest? Or I might just patch and frame this one.

One of the last few belts I’ll be making in 2019 - and it’s a pretty one. Photographing leather with natural lighting has always been a pleasure. Make sure to slide through all the images😍 @ Fayetteville, Arkansas

I had the honor of taking a customer’s old apron, deconstructing it, and sending it back with a new denim apron body. The customer loved the leather that was on the older apron, so I removed and used all the old leather pieces for the new apron. It was my first time ever doing anything quite like that, and pretty special to me - as we’re closing the business down, and now that customer has extended life in their “new” apron.

-

Reminder, we’re closing down for good at the end of this year - we’re asking that any Christmas orders are placed by December 13th, so if you want an ‘heirloom’ piece, act quickly! Thank you to all those who have ordered products over these last couple of weeks🖤

With grateful hearts, we are sharing the news that we are closing up shop at American Native.

In the fall of 2011, two brothers set out on a memorable road trip through the American South, bringing about a pride in the spirit of American entrepreneurship and a desire to build a brand rooted in intentional, quality products, and the celebration of things made by heart and by hand. For the last 7 years, we have been able to do just that — providing quality, American-made goods to our incredible community and consumer base.

The past couple years have been ones of transition. I, Clayton, the maker of the brand, have felt a tug in pursuit of a new career path. As much as I have loved the experience working with my hands, providing our customers quality goods, and being a part of the small business community here in Fayetteville, it is evident that this chapter is ready to close and a new, personal one is ready to open.

Overall, we are so grateful. Grateful to our repeat customers, the friendly, proud faces that stop us around town just to show us their beloved and worn-in leather items, and to the small business community who has spurred us on in the various ups and downs of operating their own pursuit. We will forever cherish this chapter in our story and how each customer made it possible.

December 31st, 2019 will be our last day in business. On the site, we will be marking down some of our existing inventory + posting archived items at discounted rates. We will have limited availability for our regular apron orders, and our lead time will be longer than usual. In order to get handmade items in by Christmas [aprons, belts, etc.] we ask that you place your orders by December 13th. We invite you to shop with us this Christmas season, while our supplies last, as a last nod to this business we’ve so dearly cherished.

Thank you for all your support. It’s because of you this business was able to be a part of our story.

PS. For those of you interested in purchasing machines, tools, leather, fabrics, etc, please message us and we’ll keep you updated on when we get those items up + priced.

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. This is a throwback but a goodie. I’m fortunate to have a great dad who I get to see often (thanks to my nieces😊👧🏻👶🏼). Dad, you’ve taught me innumerable values and ethics and a whole bunch of other stuff by osmosis and modeling. Your life reminds me of the Bible verse “make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands...”. You’re always ready to lend a helping hand to all your neighbors and you can fix just about anything. I hope I’ve absorbed a fraction of your traits and who you are.
