My name is Karen and I am the “beautiful mind” behind StudioKai and NiKai Designs. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. ☺

A southern suburb of Atlanta is where I call home. I work out of my home and my “creativity” is all over the place! I am a chronic entrepreneur with a creative soul. I have done MANY things trying to find my niche. I currently run a real estate office, yes I am a Real

tor, and I own a tax preparation firm. But my passion is creating beautiful things that I call “handmade glamour”. It was after tax season and I was losing my mind with all the “logic” of numbers. I was looking online at these beautiful skirts and saw one that I had to have, until I saw the $265 price tag. So I decided to figure out how to make it myself. That is when my creative side came to life. Shortly after I learned to make the skirt my entrepreneurial spirit took over and my handmade business was born. Because my kids mean everything to me, I decided to name my company after them. My daughter Niya is the “Ni” and my son Kyle is the “Kai”. They make me happy and creating makes me happy. I get a thrill from creating something from a blank canvas. Seeing things come to life. I love making my customers “feel something” when they use or wear something I have made because it makes them feel good. I make things that are a reflection of my customers. I create items with soul. I am now obsessed with crafting and creating. Beautiful fabrics and papers make me happy. Being happy is a priority. So you will find me somewhere creating or thinking of something to create that will decorate my life and reflect beauty, laughing loudly with my friends and family, drinking a glass of wine and learning to just enjoy life. We had a blast in the studio learning to make paper! I have a group that connects on Wednesdays to love on each other, create and laugh, a lot. This week we decided to try making paper and loved it! You know I had to make mine purple! 😂🤷🏽‍♀️

We all battle imposter syndrome. The thing is are we gonna give in to it by comparing ourselves to people with “think” got it going on or are we going to put our blinders on and do what we KNOW we KNOW how to do?

Currently on my table. Getting a head start on 2024. Setting up my planner.

This year was a tough one for so many reasons. One was that I didn’t prepare as intentionally and intently as I should have for what I wanted to see in my life. I was reactive instead of proactive. That made life harder than it needed to be.

I’m thankful that God gave me His grace and MM the strength to still make it through but I know He expects more of me because He knows that I know that I am more capable than I have shown up as.

This year was a learning year and I’m thankful for it. But if I don’t “write the vision and make it plain” (Habakkuk 2:2) I won’t get to where I’m trying to go. So I’m starting now planning my year, intentionally. I want to start the year off right not wait ‘til the year already started to get started.

In this session we are going to make an affirmation pillow. You will get to choose from beautiful fabrics and pick a special word to heat press onto your pillow. It’s going to remind you everyday if how awesome you are and what you can do.
