Some shots from my trip to the Fitchburg Historical Society archive as I research for my next collection.

This corset was made in Paris in the 1800s. I have seen a lot of corset styles from that era, but I had never seen removable underarm pads before and immediately loved that concept. I’ve designed tops before with open or missing underarm areas, and I love the idea of designing around wear, care, and longevity. These pads could be removed and washed separately, helping preserve the garment itself.

I also got to look through a fabric merchant’s notebook and fabric samples from Fitchburg’s mill days. Seeing these small pieces of material history and imagining the lives attached to them feels really special.

Thank you for continuing the MAKE MASSACHUSETTS SLUTTY campaign and displaying my OPEN Your Heart flag in It’s a Sign show. I had so much fun at the opening I barely took any photos, so thank you for getting some great shots of me in front of your work and of you in front of mine.

I also picked up the Don’t Tell Dad piece by .room.dweller while I was there. I walked through the show, saw it, stopped, and immediately bought it. I know what I want as soon as I see it.

Apps are apps. Places are places. People are people. We’re all just glass-eyed creatures glued to glowing screens pretending the internet is either destroying the world or saving it. I don’t really think it’s that simple.

Nothing is inherently good or bad. Everything becomes what you make of it.

I make clothes. I make art. I make things that help people feel more like themselves. So yes, I post on the internet. That’s where I find the people who are meant to wear my work. A person like me honestly could not exist in the way I do without it.

People love to talk about doomscrolling while literally holding the phone in their hand. Meanwhile, I built an entire world through mine. I turned the internet into a gallery, a runway, a studio, a survival tool, proof that I would never give up on myself even when nobody was watching.

Low likes never stopped me from posting. Algorithms never stopped me from making things. But every once in a while I get a small moment like this, where something I created genuinely makes another person happy, and that feeling is real.

That’s what matters to me.

Skin Dress, WIP.

I’ve been listening to unreleased Lana tracks from CDs I keep buying from a Depop seller and playing in my car. They’re so raw and still so Lana before she was fully Lana, and I have them curated to specific moods.

Each song feels like its own little world. She has recurring characters and themes. It makes me think about all the versions of yourself that exist before the final form, and then what still remains and always will. 💋💋
