I am obsessed with formals and wedding dresses, I love working on them to make them fit their owners. The results are so exciting. I have a passion for the fabric;, the design and the fit. I’ve designed and developed pageant dresses for all ages in a business my mother and I co-owned in Tifton, Ga called Ka-Rae’s Couture for 3 years. I’ve altered all types of formals and wedding dresses when I owned my own company in Fitzgerald,GA for 3 years. I currently alter formals and wedding dresses from my home. This is a part time passion because I am a special education teacher full time. I have so many plans for the future of my business. Stay in touch for more information.

I am hoping to change my business a bit. I only want to work on formals from now on…I will still do basic hems in jeans, etc. I don’t want to take up shirts to fit or take in the waist of pants,etc. I want to only focus on formals and wedding dresses. Sometime in the future I will begin to make formals and design wedding dresses again, but not yet.

When I attended college to get my BFA in fashion design I focused on children’s clothing. I wish I had focused more on formals but I wasn’t as comfortable with that idea as I was focused on children’s clothing. I won the TJ Award my junior year. That is an award given in the college once a year for the best junior or senior designer. I am very proud of this. But the award was won doing children’s wear. I still love designing kids clothes but my obsession is with formal fabrics.

I loved my experiences in college in Buckhead. I experienced so many things that I never would have had I not gone there. If you are interested or have a daughter or son interested in fashion design I would be happy to to talk with them about it. It really was a dream come true.
