At the Stampede Shop we build high quality, custom, hand-made horse tack, gear, accessories, and much more. Being raised all our life on ranches in the North and Mid-West, we are experienced in and truly enjoy working cattle horseback along with the ranching lifestyle and everything it has to offer. Because of this, we have developed a deep appreciation for well-made gear and tack that is not only
functional, but eye appealing. Ethan started making things out of leather at a young age, building his own pair of chaps by the time he was nine years old. In 2016, at the age of 16, he decided that he wanted to make a living out of it and went to Red Deer, Alberta, Canada for five months. There he took a college course/apprenticeship on leather work, studying under Ken Cameron of KC saddlery. He built his own saddle; learned all about different techniques, tools, and patterns; broadened his artistic ability; repaired saddles; and built numerous leather items, some of which he sold there in the shop. After coming back home, he took his saddle to the Sheridan Leather Show in Sheridan, Wyoming, where the judges were very impressed with his work for his young age. At the show he was able to buy his own sewing machine and many of the tools needed to start up a business. Soon after, he started getting orders from neighbors and has been busy ever since. We decided to start working together after graduating high school and now build custom leather goods together in our shop in the little community of Zip City, Alabama. We want to help keep the traditional cowboy way alive by encouraging the use of horses and quality gear locally and by selling our products to people all over.
