For those of you who visited Cow Palace, you probably saw our mascot ‘Bessie Cannon.’ I was often asked if she was for sale, which I would reply a firm, “No.” I actually had two other cow heads, just like Bessie, which I loaned to a local restaurant to use as decor. When the restaurant closed, the cow heads were returned. I sold one, but the third was returned damaged. I attempted to repair the damage, using plaster, but soon realized the repair was beyond my capabilities. So…here is the third cow head up for sale. She can be yours for $75, which is a HUGE discount from the original price.SOLD!!

Do you use shot glasses? Or perhaps collect them? I dropped off a ton of them today in my booth at The Florence Marketplace! They are vintage, some are etched and most are colorful. I also added a cute little 3-legged stool! Though it appears to be covered in cowhide, I believe it’s rabbit fur.

You may think I’m crazy, but I get really excited when I’m able to upcycle an item, saving it from the trash bin or waste facility. Many moons ago I learned a valuable lesson when shopping a garage sale. If you see a dress, coat or other garment with attractive buttons, buy it—if it’s priced right of course. Buttons are expensive and chances are you can score 10 or more buttons from a single garment. A $5 shirt yields $25+ in buttons! In this photo, if you look closely, you’ll see that I placed a shirt collar around a Mason jar lamp I made. The shirt the collar was originally attached to was ruined and beyond repair…but the collar was in perfect condition and pretty dang awesome! And the buttons! They were awesome, too, and were removed for another project. What have you upcycled lately?

I discovered this trick on Pinterest and it really works! If the fresh fruit you purchase goes bad before you can eat it, place the fruit in a canning jar and place a lid on top, then place in refrigerator. I’ve tried this with blueberries and raspberries (which historically only lasted two days in the fridge) and the fruit lasted over a week! Give it a try and let me know if it works for you.
