One of my most favorite things, at the shop, is coming across something from history that takes you back. Smokey Bear has been a part of our history for over 80 years. More than just a symbol he is also a real bear. From his first message "Care will prevent 9 out of 10 fires", forest fires changing to wildfires and his new message "Only you can Prevent Wildfires".

He even has his own zip code where actual letters can be sent. Check out their program site smokeybear.com and enjoy the photos from the stamp collection that inspired this post.

Second Saturday is this weekend, on July 11th from 10am to 3pm. Florence Main Street Merchants and Trapped in the Attic will have discounted items out in front of our shops. Come by and say hi. There are other sales going on off Main Street as well. Be sure to follow their signs when you are done in town.
