It is with a very heavy heart that I share with all of you that after 11 1/2 years, I’ve officially decided to close my doors December 31st. This decision came with great debate and great heartache, but ultimately the best thing for my family. 11 1/2 years ago when I first opened in that old drafty house on Main Street I never could have fathomed what the store would mean to me today. This town embraced me and raised me as a young mom and fresh entrepreneur. Being completely self taught came with many challenges, but far more blessings. Most of which were the relationships and the bonds that I was able to form throughout those years. Through this space one of my favorite pieces was the opportunity to employ young women, to watch them learn and grow and blossom right in front of me. It brought me the godmother of my children and so many young women that we call family. Relationships with customers that I will always cherish and remember fondly. It gifted me the flexibility to be present for my kids and an outlet for my creativity and love for style and fashion.
Seems appropriate that this announcement would be coming the same week as small business Saturday. In a world of Amazon and online shopping please remember how important it is to support small business. These last few years have been quite challenging and my hope was for things to come back around to shopping small being trendy and important to people again. But the reality is, I just couldn’t wait it out any longer. So please, please support the little guy as often as you can. They’re counting on you!
