We have been asked, "What is Black Tagalog?" "What does it stand for?". We found that this quote from W. Wilson was the most fitting.

Especially during the heightened hate crimes on Asian Americans, ongoing brutality and racism now publicized for the world to truly see occurring the states we found that this was the best time to address Black Tagalog and our mission (purpose).

We often view trauma as Filipinos/Filipinx/Islanders/Asians as if we are the ONLY ones that fight these battles and no other cultures can begin to understand what or how we love, fear, bond and fight. When actually we have far more in common with Black Americans.

From our stolen indigenous cultures and each had a significant revolutionary initial impact (Andrés Bonifacio and Josè Rizal; Dr. Martin L. King and Malcom X) that has drastically changed. They paved the way for years after them of other revolutionaries that continues to fight for our lives and the future of our legacies.

Sometimes we forget that our ancestors history intertwine, Aetas and the Moorish history and due to the lack of resources to obtain the knowledge or the perpetual wrongful passed down of information.

We need to do better and realize that we can do so much more when we stand united than we fight the same inequalities apart. We are often recommend to truly learn your history and not just the folklore we grew up being told. As Filipinos we have struggled discrimination and injustices, however by far compared to Black Americans. The brutality, racism and blatant losses of our brethren over 400 hundred years!

President Joe Biden had recently signed the Anti-Asian Hate crime bill due to the recent rise of attacks that was inflected on specific Asian Americans during the COVID pandemic. As grateful and proud to be alive to experience that moment, we are still have much more to work towards and to help shine light to the racial injustices of Black Americans.

We are proud founders of both Filipino and Black American, backgrounds and cultures. We appreciate you all that follow us and enjoy the resources that we provide. We also welcome open dialogue for anyone that would like to discuss any opinions debate and etc.
