I feel like we might all be guilty of assuming that because Florida is sweltering hot in the summer that the best thing in the world to wear is short sleeves and a pair of shorts. But as much as I love a pair of nice flip-flops when I want to be out and about and look my best, I almost always go to jackets like these.

This was one of the first jackets I made myself when we moved down here and I realized that we were still preheating in June. Now because I have this breathable material that’s also super stretchy, I can go out in the sun with my pale skin and not burn while still being really comfortable. Real talk: Is it warmer than wearing T-shirts and shorts? Yeah duh, but not by much. And when everybody else is running around looking like they just had a buying spree at Tommy Bahama, I’m making connections with the people that are asking where I got my stuff. Plus, this custom jacket only costs $795 and goes with pretty much anything, AND comes in multiple other colors, too. Hit my DMs if you want one (or the custom jeans. Or the custom t-shirt). 😂

Most custom clothiers have no idea how to actually take apart the clothes they make for you and put them back together again. That does not mean that they aren’t incredible stylists and designers, but it does mean delays if things need to get adjusted on your final garment. Most tailors that specialize in alterations are at least at a 1 week wait, and more if they have a following.

So when your clothier takes your garments to be altered, you can pretty much always expect at least a week of extra time before you get your stuff back. And you never know whether or not the tailor doing the work is actually good.

Which is why it’s so much easier to commission custom clothes from a tailor like me who just so happens to be in the custom clothing business. For 34 years I’ve been altering and making clothing for people all across the USA, and while I don’t take new alterations clients now, anytime your custom pieces need adjustment, they are done with my hands in my sewing studio.

You just can’t beat that kind of reliability.

Lou came to me looking for an incredible tuxedo, shirt and accessories for his son‘s upcoming wedding. After finishing up our first consultation, we decided on a pure black Revenge VII by VBC from Italy.

I quickly got to work making his toile garment and fit him a few weeks later to make sure everything was perfect. Once that fitting was done my team and I got started.

This is 100% fully handmade bespoke from start to finish. The shirt is 100% handmade with hand attached buttons rather than machine and all of the stitching on the outside done by hand. Even the white silk pocket square (and the black bow tie not pictured) was hand rolled and stitched in Italy.

What do you think? Is this a great tuxedo or what? Bonus pup for extra points!

Adrien reached out to me to create a suit for prom that actually fits. He’s a slim build, and has never had a properly fitting suit before.

“I’m wearing a belt, but I don’t have to” is a comment he made in conversation with me after our final fitting. How awesome is that?

He wanted all black so he could add accents to match his girlfriend’s dress. Needless to say, we did a great job together!
