πŸŽ‰ I have another new sling bag style available! This is the Fielder Sling Bag (pattern by the talented ). Similar in size to the Lamont sling bag I recently posted, this sling has 4 pockets: 2 zipper pockets on the front panel, a large compartment with snap closure and a larger zipper pocket on the back right side of the bag. Both of these bags are made with waxed canvas. The teal colored one features a beautiful watercolor abstract wave print on cotton twill and the pink and blue one has a colorful chevron print on water resistant canvas.

Both are available in my shop now and the entire shop is 20% Off!

Since I haven't sewn anything in about a month, I decided I wanted to sew something on the smaller size. I realized that I haven't added any f***y packs (or belt bags) to my shop in a while. So, I went with one of my all time favorites in this style, the Kaede Hip Bag (pattern by ). I've personally used this style bag before and my favorite feature is that front flap pocket that perfectly fits my iPhone. It has a magnetic snap closure that's easy to open which makes it so great to keep your phone easily accessible.

The other features don't pale in comparison with lots of pockets. The main interior compartment has a zipper pocket on one side and 6 credit card slots on the other saving you the room of a wallet. With a cute slim shape and super functional pockets, it's a must-carry.

I just added these two to my shop: Both are made of a super soft waxed canvas (not like the typical waxed canvas I use) with cotton linings. The flap on the turquoise one features a lovely blue bird floral print on water resistant cotton canvas. The beautiful neutral combo should look familiar since I just made a Sequoia Satchel with it. The flap is made of a fabulous stain resistant upholstery fabric.

I almost forgot to post these photos of a bag I made myself before going on my trip to Ireland/Scotland. This is the Lamont Sling Bag by . I wanted a sling bag to carry on my trip but the Retro Sling bag was a little too big for my needs, so I chose this pattern. I love how the main zipper area is easy to access on the side of the bag. It also has a front zipper pocket for my phone and a more secure zipper pocket on the back where I kept my cash and passport. It has 2 triangle rings on the bag so it can be worn on either side of the body or the front and back. This was the perfect size to carry a small wallet, cell phone, glasses case, etc. πŸ“Έ Last photo is of me wearing it in front of Edinburgh Fabrics!

I don't currently have any of these stocked in my shop, so what do you think, should I make a few? Is this a style you'd like to see more of?

Now that I'm back from vacay, I can finally post these 2 new bags that I finished right before leaving for Dublin. This is the Sequoia Satchel (pattern by ) which is a small messenger style bag with waxed canvas flap. These were so much fun to make and now that I have some Harris Tweed, I can see myself making a few of this bag with it.

Both of these bags have been posted to my shop. The first one has a beige gray (taupe) waxed canvas paired with this fabulous cream upholstery fabric I picked up at a factory outlet in North Carolina a while back. I was told by the sales lady that this fabric is Crypton upholstery fabric which is stain proof. I tested it out myself with a swatch and some red wine and can attest that it does not stain. I love the texture and softness of this fabric. This bag has a leather hook and d-ring closure.

The second bag is smoked blue waxed canvas paired with this beautiful southwestern Ikat print fabric in blues, beige and tan. The adjustable flap closure is navy webbing with d-ring and hook.

I’ve been M.I.A. the last couple of weeks for a very good reason. I went on a bucket list trip with my parents, sister and nephew to Ireland and Scotland. We flew over and rented a car with my sis driving to the various sites and destinations. It definitely took her some getting used to driving on the left side of the road, lol. It was a whirlwind tour of castles (13 total), churches and cathedrals. Besides castles and cathedrals, we also did the Guiness Storehouse tour, Gap of Dunloe and Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. In Scotland we checked out the Fairy Pools and Fairy Glen on Isle of Sky (and Highland coos!) and drove through Glencoe. We fell in love with the countrysides of both countries and the sheep and their babies dotting the landscape. I feel we only scratched the surface of what Ireland and Scotland has to offer and I can’t wait to visit again someday.

As a crafty person, I loved visiting the yarn and fabric shops! I picked up some Harris Tweed fabric in both Inverness and Edinburgh and can’t wait to create bags and accessories with it. On our last day in Edinburgh, my mother, sister and I participated in a bag workshop at The Islander. The pieces and parts of the bag are already sewn and you put them together with Chicago screws. It was so much fun picking out the different colors and pieces to create a unique bag. It was such a fun experience!

πŸŽ‰ Just added these 2 crossbody bags to the shop! This is the Trail Tote (pattern by ). This is a great slim profile medium size crossbody bag with an outside zipper pocket and a slip pocket inside the roomy main compartment. Both pockets fit a regular size iPhone. This bag also has decorative contrast piping which accents the shape of the bag. I loved this bag so much, I made one for myself (see last photo) along with a matching wallet, of course!

You can always DM me if you want this bag made in a different fabric!

I just updated the shop with these adorable zipper pouches. πŸ₯° As soon I saw this cute semi circle shape pouch, I knew I had to sew some. This is the Shanti Pouch by . It's another great scrap buster allowing me to use the last of a few precious piece of fabric. These make great coin and cash pouches for your purse or they can help organize the smallest items in the bottom of your bag. These also make excellent gifts. I just added these 5 to the shop.

Should I make more?

I've been doing a little selfish sewing lately. Since I have an upcoming trip to Ireland & Scotland with my parents, sister and nephew, I've been making a few things to help organize me on the trip. When I saw the recently released Honeycomb Pouch pattern (by ) I knew I had to make the large size to keep all my device chargers, blocks and headphones organized for the trip. This little pouch comes in 3 sizes: Small, Medium and Large. It unzips and has pockets on the front and back panels with a folded accordion center section for more spaces to stow your stuff.

I made mine with this adorable dog print fabric that's on water resistant cotton canvas. I used waterproof canvas on the inside for durability. And I couldn't resist using the paw print zipper pulls! 🐾

I haven't made the other sizes yet, but thinking these could be great gifts as stand alone or in sets with one of each size.

What do you think? Should I make more of these?
