Today looked like a sewing day. Almost cut the lining for my favorite flowy (see-through 🙊) dress wrong, but I thankfully took a good look before pinning. I think I'm nearly down to the bottom of the sew pile, but there's a whole "Cmas for the babies" yarn pile (catch me next year, babies) above the actual sewing pile bag so I don't know for sure. Lining-done, shorts-hemmed, shirt-done, sleep mask-tightened, sleeves-fixed, pillow-mended, football-watched, coffee-drank. It's been a good day.

When your romper is too long & the crotch hangs down to your knees, hemming the legs won't fix the problem. You'll just look like an oompa loompa. If only you knew "a girl"... but you do! At this point, I think she might be wearing all of her long clothes to work so I can beg her to let me fix them 🤣

It hurt a little to chop feet off this gorgeous (super glittery) dress but she wanted a high low dress, so... I can't tell if they sewed it crooked or what, but I measured it to cut. I'm waiting til it's on her to make any adjustments.

Honesty moment: I have never loved sewing dress uniforms. I live in fear of CSMs with rulers or eyeballs with built-in levels. I actually had to look up the regs to see if anything had changed (nope, not for this uniform)

Doesn't look like it, but this is progress. The only boxes left are books, decor, yarn, & Cmas-mostly Cmas. Tomorrow while they're sleeping, I'll be finding everything its forever home.

I learn something with everything I make. This time, the lesson hurt a bit. I simply do not have time to last-minute work when I'm working full time hours. I found one flaw (the ankle seam was twisted somehow even tho everything matched up) & cut them a super deal, but I got to sew, to bead, & to play with lace. And I learned a good lesson. Mama & daughter love it, so that's what counts, but if I had the rest of today you know I'd have it ripped open already to get to that ankle to troubleshoot.
