The first battery operated tool I bought when I was 17 years old was a Dewalt. I’ve been team Dewalt for 31 years since then. Awhile back I got hooked up with a friend of a friend that does Research and Development for Dewalt, and have tested many things for them. We’ve tested table saw blades, abrasive saw blades, drill bits, plastic cases, drivers, levels, many versions of tape measures, and about a month ago we had 2 guys from Israel into our shop that designed the brand new Dewalt tough storage system, and got to listen in and hear first hand how some of these products come about. We’ve even tested tools that probably won’t even hit the store shelves because the feedback that’s given goes into the decision on whether a product is worth selling or not. Sometimes they come through with some brand new tools for the time we put in testing their tools. It’s very cool to know our input may be just a small part of whether an idea becomes real or not. In my opinion, Dewalt is the best. Thanks guys

2 semis full of scenery, another semi partially loaded. Now in their second week of shows, the Oklahoma City Ballet Nutcracker was the biggest show we have taken on. It was a privilege to build this brand new show for them. This one took us 9 months to complete from the time we received the drawings. Thank you again to the Oklahoma City Ballet for allowing us to be just a small part of your show.

People come to us with ideas, we find a way to make it happen. Such as this. Mounted 3 40”x60” LED walls to the first electric Silverado in Cincinnati. The two on the side can be in place while it’s being driven down the road, then once parked the back panel just slips into place. Bring on the tailgate parties

Very excited to say that today we start the biggest show build that we have ever taken on. In 7 months we will put onstage a brand new Nutcracker for Oklahoma City Ballet. We have quite a bit of scenery to build, so time to head to the shop.

Opening night for Poe tonight in Austin. 5 18’ tall aluminum windows, 5 rolling tables, 7 coffins, one of which has an elevator built in. One 60’ long bridge, 2 rolling poufs, 3 sets of oversized feathers. 29 old school beds, one of which flies a dancer. This show was a challenge to build everything in 9 weeks, but it’s all up and working just like it should. Thanks to Ballet Austin for the chance to bring Michael Raiford’s vision to life.

Truck number 2 got on the road this afternoon. Next stop Austin. Monday morning we will be there to set everything up.

We haven’t posted much because we’ve been super busy in the shop. We just sent a semi load of scenery to Ballet Austin in Texas for a brand new show we are building for them. Back at it tomorrow as we have another month to build the remainder of the show.

I was turning some spindles for a chair over the weekend. Over my lathe sits the last picture taken of my grandpa turning a spindle before he passed away 9 years ago. He started to teach me woodworking when I was about 5 years old. Not a day goes by that I don’t subconsciously ask him for advice on how to do something. Suffice to say I think he would be pretty proud.
