BOB MACKIE, circa 1985, museum/archival piece! WE ARE GEEKING OUT OVER THIS FIND! Bought for $5000 in 1985 and worn only once. It has been carefully stored since 1985 and is in pretty much mint condition. Probably a modern size 2/4. UPDATE SOLD
1970’s denim herringbone twill jumpsuit/Tarrant County Jail Trusty/Trustee! This came from a time capsule home belonging to the Stripling family of the Striplings Department stores! I’m not sure if this was a costume or it was really an authentic jail inmate jumpsuit? I really don’t see them using heavy twill denim in their jumpsuits back then but 🤷🏻‍♀️. Either way it’s cool as heck! $225

✨WE JUST SCORED A PIECE OF FORT WORTH HISTORY
This is a circa 1930, bias cut, dress belonging to Mrs. Elizabeth “Bettie” Simmons Scott, widow of Mr. Winfield Scott. The Scotts were the second family to own the iconic Thistle Hill Mansion on Summit Avenue (known then as the Quality Hill) here in Fort Worth. The home is also known as the Wharton-Scott house. Thistle Hill was built in 1903 as a wedding gift for Electra Waggoner Wharton, daughter of Cattle Baron William Thomas Waggoner. It was simply their “wedding cottage” despite it being an 11,000 sq. Ft. Georgian Revival masterpiece. The Waggoner’s were among the wealthiest of American families at that time. The home was purchased by the Scotts in 1910. Winfield Scott was a self made millionaire and real estate tycoon. Winfield died and Elizabeth moved into the 3 story mansion alone in 1911. She was responsible for adding the pergola, a tea house and lavish gardens to the mansion. She passed away in 1938.
This dress was bought by our customer at an estate sale in the Berkeley neighborhood many years ago and still has the sale tag on it indicating that it was the dress of Mrs. Winfield Scott, it was purchased by our customer for $675 back then. We are the proud new owners of this wonderful archival piece of Fort Worth fashion history! It is currently not for sale! We simply had to show her off!
If any of you have any antique clothing such as this, we would love the opportunity to make you an offer.
