What a wild ride the last 8 years have been. It feels like a lifetime ago. The Lord has used this business to break me and build me back up again. I’ve experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows over the last 8 years. Being an entrepreneur isn’t for the faint of heart but it was always you who kept me going.

The internet is a marvelous place that makes it possible to reach people you’d never otherwise get to. Being able to encourage you when you’ve felt weary was truly a privilege. Being able to help you prioritize yourself and get you dressed everyday was a blessing. Every picture you sent in and every face I got to see when I was out at events reminded me why I worked so hard. Seeing you made everything I did worth it. Y’all carried me when you didn’t even know I needed it.

It’s such a bittersweet feeling as this door closes and another opens. It’s the last official day you can place an online order. If you’re local, don’t worry both Painted Tree locations will remain open. I really hate goodbyes but I know it’s one I must do.

So let me encourage you one last time. You’ve got this, because He’s got you. God gave those precious children to you and only you. If you think He’s made a mistake, I can promise you he hasn’t. You won’t ever be able to do this mom thing in your own strength. Lean into Him when you don’t feel like enough. He’ll carry you through it all. Love you, mama!

It’s with such bittersweet emotions that I have to make this announcement. I’m closing the online portion of the shop, effective Oct. 7. If you’re local, have no fear BOTH Painted Tree locations will remain open!

Back in March/April of this year, I felt the Lord calling us into something pretty scary. Foster care. I approached my husband about it and we spent months praying and talking to those who had been through this. About mid summer we both knew that this is what the Lord was calling us to do.

We've been knee deep in the process for about 2 months now. Filling out allllll the paperwork, taking classes and doing quite a bit of home remodel too. The room that is currently my office will become a bedroom which means I will no longer have a place to store inventory. And it's kinda hard to run a product based business when you don't have inventory. 🙃

There's a lot about foster care that we can't control & you deal with a lot of variables. Here's what I can tell you at the moment, we are taking two children between the ages of 2-5 and we could have them as soon as the end of November. Like I said, there's a whole lot of variables that will play into that but we are trusting the Lord's timing.

I'm sure there will be at least one more sappy/thank you post up before Oct. but I still have to say it now. I'm eternally grateful for the support y'all have given me. SO many of you are regular/repeat customers which means sssooooo much to a small business owner. It gives them validation, encouragement and it for sure kept me going on those hard times.
