Did you know that many stores that offer “mohair” cinches and breast collars are not 100% mohair?!?! They have other synthetic fibers included, which negate the reasons for buying mohair at all!

With this 100+ degree weather, it had me thinking of how much I’m looking forward to fall! So, I had to make up some breast collars in fall colors of orange, amber and brown - and of course I threw in some turquoise! 😍

Orange and tan: This breast collar has a natural center with hand-dyed orange and natural twist on the outside cords. They are anchored with stainless Jeremiah Watt Ds and have inlaid brown, gold and silver beads.

Brown and turquoise: This beauty is all hand-dyed from the rust colored center to the rust and turquoise twist to give it this truly one-of-a-kind look. It is anchored on brass o-rings and has inlaid brown, gold and silver beads.

Black and turquoise: This is a classic beauty with a turquoise, black, dark grey and light grey twist.

Of course all breast collars are made from 100% mohair!

These pretties are ready to ship….minus tugs. I’m waiting on an order of tugs to come in so if you have some at home that you can use, let me know and I’ll get the breast collar packaged up to ship out!

I realized I posted this on my personal page, but definitely needed to share here - even if a day late!

On this National Day of the Cowboy, we celebrate western culture and one of the things that I love is carrying on tradition!!

Mohair tack has been used in the western industry for years and I enjoy that it ties tradition, horsemanship and fashion!

Mohair comes from angora goats (which we used to raise when I was younger) and is beautiful, sustainable and functional.

It is known as the “diamond fiber” due to its luster and strength. It is a natural fiber that doesn’t weaken or stretch when it gets wet.

Mohair wicks moisture and sweat, helping to keep the horse’s girth area cool and dry - preventing bacterial growth and common skin issues.

Because it is composed of protein, it also has a high affinity for color tint dyes being absorbed completely through the fiber which gives rich and long-lasting hues. This means I can create custom designs to coordinate with your horse and tack!

Long live the cowboy and the western traditions that keep them in the saddle!

The Katy Rice Festival Parade was a gorgeous morning to ride! The Miss Rodeo Guadalupe County Teen & Princess looked amazing in their coordinating hand sewn and painted vests. Even the horses got a little “extra” with their floral packs. As usual, Addison is wearing her Rhinestone Lipgloss earrings - the variety you can get with clip on backs is great!

The girls love supporting our local businesses too and have the best time going through the drive through at PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans (Katy location). The owners are the absolute sweetest and always take care of the girls. Support those businesses because they mean the world to the community!!!💗
