🏴 Scotland's Footprints in Fredericksburg | Part 4
Long before Fredericksburg became the city we know today, skilled craftsmen were helping shape its future—one piece at a time.
Born in Hamilton, Scotland, James Allan settled in Fredericksburg in 1739 and became one of the town's earliest master joiners and cabinetmakers. His finely crafted furniture reflected the quality, precision, and tradition that Scottish artisans were known for throughout the colonial era.
While his name may not be as widely recognized today, Allan's craftsmanship helped establish Fredericksburg as a growing center of skilled trades and lasting workmanship.
His story is a reminder that the character of a city isn't built overnight—it's built by the hands of those dedicated to creating something that lasts.
Thank you for joining us this month as we've explored the Scottish people whose lives and work helped shape Fredericksburg. 💛

🕯 Today's wee Scottish word spotlight: Wee — one of Scotland's most beloved words for something small.
Sometimes it's the wee details that leave the biggest impression—a thoughtful gift, a handcrafted piece, or a simple moment shared with someone you love.
At FLYKUP, we believe the little things often mean the most. 💛
