Inclines are fun! This is one of my favorite patterns to dye. After soaking the shirt in soda ash and tying up the pattern, I let the shirt dry for a few days. Doing this allows the dye to move more fluidly through the garment providing better saturation. Next comes the incline! The shirt goes on a small section of gutter and is placed at an angle. Then I place the dye, then put ice on top and sit back and watch the magic happen!
This pattern is easy to replicate and in case you didn't know, I can use any colors you'd like! Just send me a message to discuss details.

Check out how cool this Spider turned out! It totally looks like a spider...with sunglasses! This Gildan Heavy Cotton men's size large was soaked in soda ash water, folded and twisted up into a Spider fold. I then applied purple dye powder under the ice on one side. After it all melted, I flipped it over, and added more ice and some blue dye on top. This might be my best Spider yet, and it could be yours! With Valentine's day right around the corner this heart design t shirt is perfect for that special little lady in your life!

This Gilden heavy cotton t shirt is a youth size small and was created the same way you used to cut out paper hearts as a child. 💜 I folded it in half, drew the half heart shape, gathered and tied. Various shades of purple and pink were applied under ice to give this shirt a ripple effect.

This shirt started life as a blank white 100% cotton Tee. The design is called a "mirrored fan fold," which means I folded the shirt in half, and then pleated it like you'd fold a paper fan.

As for the color selection and placement, it was intentional, with 3-4 individual colors used. With dye under the ice and a slight incline, this piece turned out looking like some wild psychedelic flowers!

Hey friends! I know it's been pretty quiet around here lately. The holiday season is exhausting and I haven't had a lot of energy to create. To be honest, I've sort of been in a funk (brain injuries are hard) but I'm pushing through it and getting back on track!
Over the next few days we'll be focusing on getting the massive amount of inventory I have photographed and listed here, and on my website butdidyadye.com. I'm excited to show you all of the neat shirts I've dyed this year! Had a great day at the Craft and Pumpkin Sale at Kinderhaus Montessori. Only sold 4 shirts but... I SOLD 4 SHIRTS!!!! And I consider that pretty darn good for my first craft fair. There shall be many more to come!
