I have to admit, I have never run across such an interesting nautical antique! This is an early silver plated weighted ships chamber light. It worked on either a flat surface, or hung on the wall. Found at a junk sale no too far from Galveston.

It’s been a radical change going from being part of buying and selling antiques to sorting through all we have and deciding on what to keep. Tastes change, and that’s alright. We just have to let go of items that no longer work with our present choices. In many ways letting go of “stuff” can be liberating 😊

Since moving to Texas from Montana, I’ve put a lot of work into setting up my sewing room. It’s full of antique and vintage textiles that have taken years to collect. My goal is to restore some, make new quilts with old fabrics and new, and enjoy the fruits of my labor. I’m excited to create again!

Thank you to everyone who has bought from us over the past several years, whether it be through the Salvage Sisters Vintage Market or down at Vintage and Rustics antique mall. Today was the final day for our booth at V & R. Very bittersweet. But we know that for every ending, there is a beginning! Our love for all things vintage and antique will continue. Here's to the good old stuff!
