Hey everyone, this is Austin.
This has to be the hardest post Iâve ever had to write. Iâve been dreading it. I wonât beat around the bush and will just come out and say that Taraâs will be closing our doors. We tried everything to keep the rumors from becoming true, but unfortunately we canât anymore. We tried everything in our power to keep the doors open, not just for the employees but for the customers who my mom cared so deeply about.
I wish circumstances were different. I wanted nothing more than to run my moms business for the rest of my life. To keep Taraâs a permanent part of Gadsden. To let her name live on, for at least as long as I live. So it breaks my heart to have to close the doors, though I do know I did all I could.
I want to thank all our workers, both current and past, for sticking with us through all the hard time. Even the workers who have long since moved on, we couldnât have got here without you. Mom loved every single one of you girls, thank you for being a part of the Taraâs Family.
I also want to thank our wonderful customers. We could not have come this far without you all. Thank you so much for helping my mother realize her dream. She was a truly special woman, and I believe she deserved it. She wanted nothing more than to give back to the community who helped her get started. You are all like a kind of extended family to us.
Starting tomorrow, and lasting until we close the doors for good, we will be having a going out of business sale. Everything in the store will be 50% off. Please stop by and see us. We have fewer workers now, so we are going to start closing at 5pm. So please keep that in mind. If you have gift cards, now is the time to use them.
Thank you all for the understanding, youâve been the best customers in the world. It was an honor to fill her shoes, even if only for a bit.
