A little Sunday reflection...

Over the past few weeks, we've had the opportunity to spend some one-on-one time basket weaving with Patricia and Regina, and this Tuesday we'll have another private basket class with Janie and a group of ladies she pulled together.

Things like this are a good reminder of just how thankful we are for the people who continue to support what happens here.

Whether you're one of our regulars, someone who just discovered us, someone who signs up for a workshop, or someone who simply stops in every now and then to wander around — you're helping support a small community of makers who genuinely enjoy creating and sharing what they do.

We're still a pretty small and humble operation, and I think that's part of what makes it special. The products on the shelves, the classes around the tables, and the conversations that happen in between are all made possible because people choose to be a part of it.

And for that, we're very thankful. ❤️

We're just one week away from the next Gainesboro Shop Hop! 🐓

Next Saturday, September 12 from 10am-5pm, is a great excuse to spend a little time wandering around town, visiting some of our local shops, and seeing what's new along the way.

Hosted by our friends at Gainesboro Modern , we'll be participating here at The Rusty Rooster Gainesboro, along with several other shops around town. Be sure to visit each shop to enter the gift basket giveaway (see attached image for shops participating in the giveaway)!

We're looking forward to seeing some familiar faces — and hopefully a few new ones, too! So mark your calendar, grab a friend, and make an afternoon of it. There's always something interesting to discover when you slow down and wander a little. 😊

A few weeks ago, Jared stopped by the shop and asked if we'd be willing to support Jackson County's Project Graduation. After learning a little more about what the program is all about, it was an easy yes.

Project Graduation gives our seniors a fun, safe place to celebrate together after graduation while helping keep the roads a little safer for everyone in our community.

We were happy to donate these engraved wallets for this year's event and are thankful to play a small part in supporting our students and community. And if you have the opportunity to support the event in some form, this is a wonderful way to invest in our local students and the future of our community!

To the Class of 2027, we wish you an incredible senior year. Make some wonderful memories, enjoy every moment, and best of luck in the year ahead!

It's been a busy week at the Coop, with basket weaving in full swing. We had a few folks stop in throughout the week for a little pop-up weaving (including Bryan jumping in one afternoon!), all leading up to a wonderful class on Saturday.

Today feels like a good day to slow down, reflect on what you accomplished this past week, and enjoy a little well-earned rest before a new week begins.

A heartfelt thank you to Sandy, Patricia, Regina, and Jared for an afternoon (and week) filled with laughter, creativity, and great company. We hope you enjoy your beautiful baskets for years to come. 🧺💚

Sometimes it's the little details that make something special.

We wandered around the shop looking a little closer today and found a few textures, colors, and handcrafted details worth sharing. We hope you'll enjoy taking a closer look—and perhaps discover something new the next time you visit.

One of the projects we've been slowly working through is adding lighting to our vendor booths.

It's not a dramatic change, but it's one of those little improvements that helps showcase our vendors' work a little better and makes the shop feel a little more welcoming. We're taking it one booth at a time, and it's been fun seeing the difference each small change makes.

There's still more to do, but we enjoy finding ways to keep improving the shop for both our vendors and everyone who stops in to visit.

Yesterday was another wonderful reminder that creativity isn't about rushing to the finish—it's about enjoying the journey.

Our maker space was filled with conversation, encouragement, and plenty of color as everyone worked through Carla's Harvest Sunshine painting workshop. Thank you to Carla of The Blue Heron Studio for sharing her talent, and to everyone who spent part of their Saturday creating with us. 🌻🎨
