Classic 1923 Ace Sporting Solo 💙❤️🖤

The Classic 1923 Ace Sporting Solo was a renowned high-performance, four-cylinder motorcycle, considered the pinnacle of American engineering at the time and known for its smooth ride and exceptional speed. Designed by William G. Henderson, the pioneer of American four-cylinder motorcycles, the Ace featured an F-head (inlet-over-exhaust) 1262cc inline four-cylinder engine and a 3-speed, hand-shift transmission, capable of an estimated 120 mph. Its design was notably modern, with a low center of gravity that provided remarkable handling for the era, a 59-inch wheelbase, and a lightweight of approximately 365 pounds. Tragically, William Henderson died while test-riding the new Sporting Solo model in late 1922, and the company faced financial difficulties, eventually being acquired by the Indian Motorcycle Company, whose iconic Indian Four models carried on the Ace's engineering legacy.

C.K. Shepherd embarked on a remarkable adventure across the United States on his 1919 Henderson motorcycle, documenting his experiences in a book “Across America by Motorcycle”, published three years later. Of course, this bike was a precursor to the 4-Cylinder ACE Motor Corporation bike.
