If anyone is looking for a bargain on a last minute prom gown, I just saw this at Noah’s Attic (Ballston Spa) for $15!!! Ladies sz 10. Brand new, with tags in GREAT condition!!! I couldn’t resist sharing !

*Note: if you need it altered, that won’t be cheap! It’s totally beaded and a lot of work to alter 😉 but it’s stunning! Pic does g do it justice. It’s a really pretty shade of dusty, muted pink.

If you are attending prom, getting married or are in a wedding this year NOW is the time to start planning your alteration appointments! ESPECIALLY PROM!! Shop early and book your alterations!! There are not a lot of truly qualified and experienced seamstresses in the capital district, and those of us who are fill up fast!

I sincerely would love to alter as many dresses as possible! I don’t like turning work away! But every year I get calls at the last minute and I have to say no bc I am fully booked with peole who planned ahead. I will not work myself to death bc a sobbing bride “didnt think the alterations were a big deal” 🤷‍♀️ (spoiler alert: the alterations are almost always a bigger deal than you think they will be!) After 10 + years, Im kind of over the crazy feeling that I can’t say no. I can, and I will! 😉

What is last minute you ask??? 30 days till your event IS LAST MINUTE for prom and bridesmaids. 60 days or less is last minute if you’re a bride. Do not dawdle!! Even I, the queen of procrastination, know that waiting to book is dangerous! So get shopping and reach out to us ASAP.

I have commented multiple times to my clients that I am seriously considering imposing a “glitter surcharge “ on any gown that is brought to me with glitter in the fabric. Not only does it make my work more difficult cleaning up after so I can work on the next client’s dress (I LOVE when I get to work on someone’s black dress after glitter has invaded my workspace🤦‍♀️), but it gets ALL OVER MY HOME. It is between my floorboards, in every room. It in my rugs. It i In between my bathroom tiles. I get it in my hair. It even gets in my bed sheets!!

PLEASE!!! I’m begging you. don’t buy the glitter dress. Stop the madness .

It’s a nice day to sit in the porch and bead!! I’ve got a LOT to put back on! And this is just one side. Other side and shoulders will also need to be done! But the sun is shining, there’s a lovely breeze, and Met Opera Radio on Sirius is playing Tosca!!! ❤️ To-ooo-sca-ah!!!!! Sei tu!

It’s been a busy week for me personally . A huge thank you to all my clients who have been patient and understanding while I celebrate this milestone with my family! So proud of my beautiful daughter and all she has achieved.

Took the time to sew for her this week! My baby wanted her own custom dress from Needle in the Haystack,aka mom. So how could I say no???

Simplicity pattern, white stretch cotton from Mood Fabrics. Blue trim at the waist??? a scrap cut off a client’s hem!! Waste not, want not! Or is it waist not??? 😉
