When this sweet baby girl recently made her appearance we were all in awe at the amount of vernix on her!

What is vernix? And why should you NOT wipe it off!

Vernix Caseosa is the waxy white substance on most newborns skin! Often it’s quickly wiped away, hut we leave it alone to soak in!

Vernix is formed by your baby around 20 weeks gestation. It’s so unique that the proteins found in vernix can not be replicated!

So why should we leave it on baby and what does it do!?

It lubricates the baby and helps baby out through the birth canal!

It moisturises baby’s skin after birth (don’t wash it off, rub it in!)

The greatest joy I ever felt, was when for the first time, I heard the heart bit. Life was growing inside of me. I was so humbled at this great gift. I felt unworthy, but committed to just let myself be fully engaged in this journey.
Would it be a boy, a girl, twins? Nothing mattered for me. I was carrying life in my womb.

My little one, my angel, my life, all I know is that I love you move than I could ever imagine.
You make me a woman.
