It's been a while since I've pulled an all nighter design makeover with mom but this one means so much to us that we we were willing to tackle it with a tight 48 hour window. Up until 1am last night after working a big event and back at it this morning but we finished! Thank you mom for the labor help and financial contribution, and dad for floating the walls, priming, adding the dimmer switch and light.

A very important young woman in our family was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and things have been moving very quickly for her during this very stressful time. She was scheduled almost immediately for a double mastectomy so when she told me, I knew that I needed to make sure the place where she would spend so much of her time in the next few months would need to be her sanctuary. I wanted her to know that no matter where you are at, you can and that you are loved.

Her favorite color is orange 🧡 so finding a wallpaper treatment that was affordable and elegant was tricky but I think we may have just
put a bright Neon smile on her face.

Here’s the final reveal for the Hernandez Family (owners of Ohana Shaved Ice Downtown Hollister) From a dark, dungeon like spec home to an airy beautifully colored ray of bright light. Here are the before and after pictures. Disclaimer: The stools are being converted to counter height but same finish/color.

Here’s a preview of the kitchen/living room renovation dad and I are tackling for Peter and Karina Hernandez owners of Ohana Shave Ice Downtown Hollister. We removed the partition initially placed by the spec home builder which made the home feel cavernous and dark. Wait until you see the big reveal🤩 Can I just say that I love when I get to use colored cabinets in any way possible (you can’t see it yet but the island is navy blue).

Did you know grout came in crazy cool colors!🌈💕 Both sanded and un-sanded grout in a rainbow of colors can be found in the Etsy store Just make sure to tape off counters and cabinets extremely well (especially if they are white) and remember that the grout itself may look white at first in the package but it will be activated once it hits water. Mix well!

Crazy wallpaper ladies (Mary Ann Rodriguez and I), up till midnight adding some pizazz to arguably the best looking commercial restrooms in town (aside from The Neon Exchange). This week my mission was to completely redesign a welcoming waiting room for a non-profit organization Youth Alliance doing great things for our local Youth both in Gilroy and Hollister.
The Hollister campus is undergoing a huge transformation and tonight is a virtual fundraising event to secure further funding to complete this renovation. I had less than a week to design, shop and install the materials so guess who pulled an all nighter until 1:30am last night....so well worth it as it is my honor to make a donation of labor and design to a great organization. I wish them only the best tonight as they showcase their new space and goals for the future.
