Ellen George is a Compassionate Entrepreneur of Trades of Hope, a fair trade certified organization dedicated to empowering impoverished women around the globe. Although Trades of Hope has been around since 2010, I’ve only recently learned about this amazing company after a friend of mine invited me to her online Facebook party. Curious about the upcoming party and the company, I did some research
and discovered that they empower women out of poverty around the world while creating entrepreneurial opportunities for women by selling their ethically produced fashion accessories and home décor. Already aware of the struggles of women in other countries, and our own, I knew this was the company for me! When I looked into the business model of having Facebook parties I realized the work fit my stringent criteria for employment. But before I would jump the gun I had to make sure the artisans are not exploited. I found out that not only are they NOT exploited, but Trades of Hope is certified as a Fair Trade company, meaning the women work in healthy and safe working conditions and they even make more money with TOH than they do in their communities. I love everything about this company, and so will you! Due to my limitations, I will only be doing online Facebook parties or Book parties. There are many benefits to Facebook parties for me, the Hostesses, and the Guests:
Guests: As soon as you place your order online, the process begins and you very well may receive your beautiful products before the party even ends! Furthermore, you can do your shopping in your jammies! Even though the party will take place at a specific time, you will be able to go back and see all the posts for a few days (as long as the party is open). Hostesses: You don’t have to clean your house and spend extra money for food and beverages for your guests! The other big advantage of having an online Facebook party is you can invite guests from anywhere in the United States! This has been shown to increase your sales, which means more free products for you, and more money for the Artisans! Also, like the guests, you can attend the party in your jammies as well! The party could be one big slumber party across the US! The Compassionate Entrepreneur: You can conduct your business right from your living room! For the online Facebook parties, you have your scripts ready to go and all you need to do is make a new post every few minutes. That frees you up to answer questions the guests may have. The posts are numbered so if someone has a question, they can name the post by number and you can help them with their inquiry! Your profit is anywhere from 25% to 33%. As a bonus, if you sell $1000 in your first month a family gets 12 chickens. After the next $1000 in sales, an orphan will get food for a month; and after the third $1000, a family will get a water wheel! Like I said, I am SOLD on Trades of Hope! I recently became a Compassionate Entrepreneur in January of 2017 and I am excited to make a difference in the lives of many women around the globe and share their beautiful products with you! I hope you enjoy the products and I am here to answer any questions you may have. EVERY Trades of Hope purchase gives purpose, hope, and a future to a woman, her family, and her community around the world and in America. YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE. Pretty cool, huh?
