Remember the post from the other day before my Sustainable Fashion class? I made a “white board” out of shopping bags. It got filled in during class, and decided to keep going with decorating it. Now it’s a poster about sustainable fashion!

It’s all about finding your North Star- why it matters to you. Choose 1 focus and then start asking yourself questions about a potential purchase based on what is most important to you. It helps clarify- remember even those small changes do matter.

When I take it down, I’ll have decorated shopping bags for anyone who comes and shops in person at - your shopping bag can be your reminder!

These halters look like they were pulled from the earth itself—and in a way, they were.
The fabric was hand-dyed by a local artist, Miriam of Mad Mir Dye, inspired by the elements: wind, water, rust, and heat. The patterns feel sun-baked, storm-washed—like something nature left behind.
I’m sewing them now, shaping them into lightweight halters that feel as easy as bare feet on warm stone.
They’ll be available on my site by mid-June—but only for a short time, before they head to summer pop-ups.

This halter top was the first item to sell during the Art-a-whirl event! Most EcoPetites items are cut and sewn by a small factory in NE Minneapolis, but I like to make special small run items. And this cute number got a good reaction at its debut at the recent event.
So I’m making more, in preparation for the dog days of summer! This fabric Miriam dyed is such a pleasure to look at while I sew.
