Very excited to share with you a new yarn line I’ve been working on! Rugged Flack is a a natural rug yarn made from 70% New Zealand wool and 30% Belgian flax. This rug wool blend is spun in the United States and has been hand-dyed by yours truly. This first color line was a joy to experiment with and produce and I can’t wait to see what you make with it! As with many things in life, yarn dyeing is an iterative process and this small batch of yarn is just the beginning, can’t wait to share more soon!

In other news Aaron and I are about 5 weeks away from our move back up to Grand Rapids. We visited there this weekend, stayed with a friend and visited a few of our favorite spots. I ran through our neighborhood, where we used to live and where we are moving back to, and could not get enough of all of the spring flowers, trees and beautiful old homes. It almost felt like we never left. On the sad side of things it seems as if my favorite neighborhood cat, Ziggy, has moved out. Looking forward to settling in soon, mixing old routines with new realities. Happy Monday!

I’ve been feeling very inspired by the quilter’s I follow here on the World Wide Web and then yesterday this box of pre-cut quilter’s cotton magically found me at my favorite thrift shop. 75 cents later and this box of textile treasures is mine to piece as I please. Loving this color palette and the pre-cut strips, squares and blocks. Does anyone have advice on how to piece these pointed oval shapes??
