Today is the day! Our Virtual Book Club is starting The Count of Monte Cristo today!

This all started when I admitted that I was intimidated by this book…and I would lying if I said I felt any different now. I’m still a bit nervous about the length and commitment. But I’m also so excited to do get to do this together!

I’m a firm believer that everything is better when done in community. So thank you for being mine. 💛

**It’s not too late to join us! You can find the weekly schedule on the second slide and can purchase the Book Club Companion Guide and Reading Schedule Bookmark on my website.**

Title: Help! I’m Ruining my Kids
Author: Abbey Wedgeworth
My Rating: I Loved It!

If the title of this book doesn’t make you curious about what’s inside, then I can’t relate to you. 😂

Abbey is one of my favorite follows in Instagram. She’s funny and relatable and just seems like a real person. Initially I didn’t plan to read this book because I assumed it was geared towards moms with younger children. But as I read more and more reviews of it, I realized that it might apply to me too.

And it did! I felt like this wasn’t just another parenting book because she came at it from a different angle. It was a good mix of biblical truth, personal stories, and practical application. She talks a lot about how mental health impacts motherhood. I haven’t read a book that handles that topic well, but as a mom who struggles with anxiety and PTSD, I felt very seen, encouraged, and challenged.

Because she addressed mental health, I think it’s important to read with discernment. There is so much secular thought on the topic and some of her quotes and info comes from secular sources. I didn’t think she crossed any lines away from biblical thinking, but there were some words and phrases she used that probably could have been defined more clearly or worded differently.

Overall, I loved the book! I have been having the hardest time focusing on non-fiction lately, but this one drew me in, kept my attention, encouraged, and challenged me. I definitely recommend it!

I’ve been traveling for a week. Let’s see what’s new in my Little Free Library since I’ve been gone!

I get a good amount of foot traffic and turnover at my LFL during the Summer. I usually check it daily, so it was fun to see lots of changes since the last time I looked.

Would you take any of these if you stopped by?

At the very least, it delays it until I finish this chapter. 🤷‍♀️This tee is available in the Well Read Shop!

I didn’t know this was going to happen when I posted two weeks ago. But the Count of Monte Cristo won’t be silently judging us from our bookshelves for much longer!

The Virtual Book Club through this lengthy classic novel begins next Monday, June 22nd.

Here’s is what you need to do to participate (and I hope you will):

1. Obtain a copy of the book. We will be using the Robin Buss translation that is published by Penguin
2. Save this post because the reading schedule is on the last slide and you’ll want to find that easily.
3. Consider purchasing the Book Club Companion Guide from my shop to help you track all your thoughts, notes, and predictions as you read.
4. Start reading on June 22nd.
5. Come back here on June 28th for our first discussion post

I found some loopholes. 😂😅 But I still think I did pretty well!

I can’t wait to get started on this stack!
