👀 Small, simple, and often overlooked, TEARS quietly play a big role in keeping your eyes feeling right every day.

They contain natural antibacterial enzymes called lysozyme that help slow bacterial growth while washing away dust and debris, keeping your eyes clean, comfortable, and naturally defended without you even noticing.

If you’re experiencing any eye discomfort or concerns, feel free to call our optometry clinic. We’re here to help take care of your vision.

May is Healthy Vision Month! This month is a vital reminder to step back and look at how we are caring for one of our most precious assets: OUR SIGHT.

Your eyes are your primary windows to the world, yet many people wait until they notice a "blur" before seeking care. Because many eye conditions often have no early warning signs, proactive care is the only way to safeguard your vision long-term. In fact, nearly half of all vision loss is preventable with early detection and ongoing care.

Here are five simple steps you and your family can take this month:
1. Schedule a Comprehensive Eye Exam: Whether you wear glasses or have perfect 20/20 vision, an annual exam is the best way to detect issues early.

2. Wear UV Protection: Sunglasses aren't just a style choice; they are essential for blocking 100% of UV rays that can damage your eyes over time.

3. Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: A diet rich in leafy greens and omega-3s supports retinal health, while regular exercise helps manage conditions like diabetes that can affect your sight.

4. Know Your Family History: Many eye diseases are hereditary. Understanding your family’s eye health history helps your doctor provide more personalized care.

5. Practice Eye Safety: Whether you are playing sports or working on home improvements, wearing protective eyewear can prevent thousands of eye injuries every year.

Don’t miss a single moment. Make this May the month you put your family’s vision first!

Most of us know how convenient contact lenses can be—but did you know that sleeping in them can put your eye health at serious risk?

When you keep your contact lenses in overnight, your eyes get less oxygen, creating the perfect environment for bacteria to grow. This can lead to irritation, dryness, redness, and in more serious cases, eye infections or even corneal damage. What might seem like a harmless habit can quickly turn into something that requires medical attention.

Even if your lenses feel comfortable, it doesn’t mean they’re safe to sleep in. Unless your eye care professional has specifically prescribed lenses designed for overnight wear, it’s always best to remove them before going to bed. Taking those few extra seconds at night can make a big difference in protecting your vision.
Healthy habits lead to healthy eyes. Clean your lenses properly, replace them as recommended, and most importantly—never skip taking them out before sleep.

Your eyes work hard for you every day. Take care of them 💙

If your vision seems blurry, dim, or colors don’t look as bright as they used to, it could be a sign of cataracts. These changes happen gradually, which is why many people don’t notice right away.
