General Rules for my shop:
1: First money, First Serve.
Just because you talked to me about an order months ago, doesn't mean your order is infront of the guy who walked in today with an order and money for his deposit. If your order doesn't require a deposit, you will get a written copy of your order to confirm your place in line.
2: My shop, is my business There are ranching/farming days. Most of the ranching and farming days and the shop days get scheduled around each other, but please understand... when we have a flood, or a wolf/lion/bear/etc. get into the livestock... I have to drop what I'm doing to help out!
3: Handmade/Custom work takes time
My leather is a form of art! Art takes time, this is no machine cut, machine stamped, duplicated product. Each item is custom designed, hand cut, hand tooled/engraved, and held to a high product standard! The more detail and customization to the product, the longer it takes to manufacture.
4: Don't demand, gets you nowhere!
Please show some respect. Don't call, email, or show up demanding that I do something. If you're in a hurry, just tell me and I will see what I can do about working you in, or pushing your project up the ladder... but don't expect it tomorrow. Telling me that I will do something, and do it in a certain timeframe is the easiest way to get asked to take your business elsewhere! Just communicate with me about your schedule and I will try to accomidate the best I can.
5: If you ask for my honest opinion, expect to get it!
Dont ask me to give an opinion if you want me to say only what you want to hear, because it may not happen. If you ask what a saddle is worth, I will tell you what i would sell it for, used. Don't expect me to tell you that the saddle you paid three hundred for brand new is now worth three thousand, just because you've replaced half the parts on it with better materials. If you ask my opinion on something, I'll try to be nice about it and find something good to say.. BUT I have an opinion and am not afraid to use it.
6: Don't blame me or someone else for your stupidity!
If I or someone else relined your saddle, cleaned it, or replaced stirrup leathers... and YOU get on a horse and jerk the saddle strings through the leather (ripping the leather), that's all your fault... all on your own! You are old enough to know better than to pull yourself up by the saddle strings! If you step foot in my shop, blaming anyone but you (horse included)... I'll ask you to leave!
