it’s with a heavy heart that i make this announcement. i’m officially taking a hiatus from windfall so i can focus on my health. since my initial diagnosis in june of 2019, i still have yet to hit remission from my illness. i’ve tried 5 different treatments with no success, and i’m running out of options. my doctors have recommended me to simplify my life to reduce my stress levels, so after a lot of deliberation, i’ve decided to do just that.

it’s been a wonderful journey thus far. thank you all for your support with everything i’ve done so far with the brand. God willing, this isn’t goodbye, but just a see you later.

our webshop will continue to operate in the interim. i’ll be posting sales here and there to move all the stock out. for those who have a pending order for the angelou hoodies, i’m still working on them. ETA is end of year or early next. thank you for your patience.

this month is su***de prevention awareness month.
this week is su***de prevention awareness week.
& yesterday was world su***de prevention day.

often when these times come up, we post the su***de hotline number, say we’re here if anyone needs an ear, and move on with our day. that’s definitely good, but speaking as someone who struggles with suicidal thoughts, rarely do i think of reaching out when i see that.

rather, the moments that truly stick out to me are when people reach out to me specifically. when people just check up on me to see how i’m doing. when friends and family make it tangibly apparent that i’m loved, appreciated, and they’re here for me if i ever need them.

rather than think about these things for a fleeting moment, let’s make a lifestyle out of it. check up on your friends. reach out first. never assume people are doing okay based off their outward appearance, because you never know what demons they’re fighting at home. know that you can make a difference. you can help them to not fight alone.

Recently, one of our officers responded to a call and came into contact with a 9-year-old who was very upset. The officer noticed the child wearing a Pokémon t-shirt, so the officer began talking to the child about Pokemon. After about 30 minutes of talking about Pokémon, the officer learning the child’s favorite is Dragonite, and the officer sharing his favorite is Charmander, the child was calm enough to talk about the situation that occurred. As the officer was leaving, the child ran to a bedroom and came back with a Charmander card (the officer’s favorite) and told the officer that Charmander would keep him safe at work. The officer promised to keep the card with him in his vest.
