It is with sadness that the Smith family announces they will cease operating Holt Shoe Shop as of Monday, January 22nd, and the store will close and revert back to the Holt family. At the close of business on Friday, January 19th, the store will close and not reopen.
As such, we are no longer taking repairs. We will continue back-office functions for billing, finalizing receivables, and closing of accounts.
The reasons for this closure were primarily due to the changing economic and industrial business activity in the Granite City area over the last few years, increasing competition from boot trucks and online ordering, as well as increased expenses in running a business.
We thank you for your past support of a local small business.
