Rummaging through old files and I found a half written pattern. No gauge. No needle size noted. No pictures 🤣 No notes about where the inspiration came from.

What else would a pattern designer between projects do? 🧺

Grab some yarn and needles that "might" work together, and just start stitching, of course! 🧶 Now that I'm a couple inches in, I think I'm realizing what the inspiration was! Now, hopefully I can finish this and bring it to life! 🌸

The digital world is spinning incredibly fast, and it's easy to feel stuck on a never-ending treadmill of viral trends and quick-fix hacks. Life is just too short to spend chasing every single shiny new platform. 🏃‍♀️

I've made a calculated choice to step off that treadmill so I can protect my energy and focus on what really matters—our real human connection and creative growth. I still share bits here when there's something meaningful to show you, but the deep, quiet conversations happen in my weekly emails and inside our Skool community. 🛋️

I bent my needle 🫪😱😩😭

Have you done this before?
I have.
It's frustrating for sure.

But also a massive sign that I was forcing my work! I should have stopped and gotten out some dpns to finish the crown of this hat.

Tell me your bent or broken needle story in the comments.

Stop looking for the newest thing and look at your own shelf for a moment. I’m sharing a story on the blog today about my two grandmothers, Ivy and Marge. They both grew up in the Depression, but they taught me two very different, very powerful lessons about stewardship.

One was the queen of resourcefulness (think: old pantyhose for garden ties), and the other was "Thoroughly Modern Millie," demanding elegance and quality. When those two mindsets finally shook hands, I was able to take a 13-year-old "problem" yarn and turn it into a modern heirloom.

Come see how I paired a vintage 1965 pattern with luxury silk and seaweed fiber to finally shop my stash with confidence.

It might sound strange coming from someone who owns a yarn shop, but I want you to stop looking for the “newest” thing for a moment. I want you to go to your shelves and look at the yarn and the patterns you already own. We’ve all been there—buying with big dreams, only to let […]

Is your yarn basket haunting you? 👻🧶
We’ve all been there—that "New Project High" feels amazing, but meanwhile, those unfinished projects in the corner are taking up "rent" in your head.
I’m getting salty and honest on the blog today about the Stewardship of the Stitch. If a project is sitting there "in bo***ge," making you feel guilty every time you walk past it, it isn't serving you or the fiber! 👑
It’s time to move past the guilt and into your authority as a maker. I’m sharing:
🧺 The Two-Basket Method for clearing creative clutter.
🐸 Why "Frogging" is an act of stewardship.
🧬 The fiber science of releasing "emotional tension" in your yarn.
Don’t let your stash become a source of "shoulds." Your stitching time is meant to be a sanctuary! 🛁✨

Reclaim Your Yarn and Your Peace I’ve recently heard from some of you with some version of this struggle, so I know it resonates with so many more of of us than are speaking up! It’s a real challenge! All those new possibilities seem so much more intriguing, don’t they? A new skein of yarn [.....

We got a new couch for our living room.
Which meant repurposing a table from my office, and putting some treasured family antiques in my office.

Which means I'm moving absolutely everything???
How did that happen???

Keeping my body strong and flexible allows me to keep doing what I do.

You might think my morning workout is just about staying fit, but it's actually my most important business tool! 🧶💪

Stitching for hours is hard on a body. If I'm stiff, sore, or sluggish, I can't show up for you with the energy and focus you deserve. Taking these few minutes to move means I can keep teaching, designing, and cheering you on without my body giving me grief.

I’m all about that heirloom life, and that includes taking care of the person making the heirlooms! When I’m strong and flexible, my stitches are better, my mind is clearer, and I can keep this Perfectly Knotty journey going for years to come.

How are you moving your body today to keep your hands happy?
