Every quilt tells a story. This is the story of making a dinosaur quilt for a woman I will never meet.

We had an abundance of dinosaur items in the Embracing Families Boutique at LivingWell Medical Clinic. A request was made by Cheryle at LivingWell asking if I could make a dinosaur quilt for a "drawing" for a complimentary quilt in a dinosaur pattern. I found a pattern through Pinterest and set to work making the quilt. It took me the weekend and I was able to deliver it to LivingWell.

Most of the solid fabric was in my stash, and I found the dinosaur fabric for the backing on the flat fold table at Ben Franklins. The striped binding was from fabric gifted by my friend Mary. Hurray! The quilt was meant to be!

Every quilt tells a story. This is the story of making a Christmas quilt with gifted fabric and trying to reduce my stash of fabric on hand.

I was gifted 10 different 1 yard cuts of Christmas fabrics. I don't have any Christmas quilts so this was the perfect opportunity to make a Christmas quilt. (I actually made the top, the back, and another Christmas quilt with the fabrics).

The front was made with from a free pattern by Fat Quarter Shop called Layer Cake Loop.

After making the top, I still had an abundance of fabric. So, I cut up more fabric into 2 1/2" strips and did a Jelly Roll Race quilt for the back. This was the first time that I've done a Jelly Roll Race quilt.

After finishing this I still have fabric left over. So, I'm making a Christmas string quilt with the leftovers.

Every quilt tells a story. This is the story of making a quilt coat after a suggestion from a friend using batik fabric from my stash (most obtained from the destash of others). It was a fun project.

Pink Flowers in Bloom. 47x 47
This is the story of making a baby quilt for a young woman I have known for 25 years. She is having a baby girl and decorated the nursery in a soft pink.
Finished 9 in. blocks. The quilting (stipple motif) was scrumptious! The more I quilted this, the more I loved it!

2024 is my year of giving to others. Sharing my latest “little” project and finish - 45 tote bags for Samaritan's Purse. All lined with a coordinating fabric.

I estimate 45 yards of fabric was used. None was fabric I bought but had been gifted to me by my friends who were passing along their excess & no longer wanted. I decided I didn't want for personal projects either but it was perfect to bless the kids. (Trying to reduce my excess fabric as well).

Will deliver this weekend.

On to my next project - Baby quilts for LivingWell Medical Clinic. I have 3 new ones on the hopper.

Getting the year off to a good start.

Happy Fall! I made this over the weekend to replace my original Leaf Quilt made last year and sold off my wall. I love this quilt even more than the original because it is made with batiks and all from fabric I had in my stash.
