Contrasting with your typical antique storeroom, Sunchild’s Parlour presents a warm, welcoming space designed to honor and showcase old relics in all their glory with the intention of encouraging the creation of new, vintage-inspired spaces incorporating both vintage clothing and furniture. Named after Sami Sunchild, a Haight Street icon—a Doctor in Transformational Art and Societal Change, famous

for her community service, environmental activism, and numerous operations dedicated to peace and social justice—Sunchild’s Parlour focuses heavily on community assurance by supporting local artists and designers. To Latronica, a longtime local arts supporter himself, the key to creating style relies not only on the objects in a room, but how they interact with one another, and tell their own stories. Designed in conjunction with the natural layout of the Red Vic, Latronica is excited to see how the story of Sunchild’s Parlour will work its way into the long, historical narrative of hotel, and how both spaces will transform.

Sunchild’s is turning 5! Can you believe it? We can’t but it’s true! Come celebrate with us downtown Saturday, Dec 9th from 6-9pm with the legendary DJ Fossil.
Fossil will be spinning 60s and 70s soul & funk on vinyl as we offer complementary champagne and wine as well as discounts on lots of vintage as a thank you to our beloved community for 5 years of love and support. Thank you to our Nevada County community for your continuous support in keeping Sunchild’s alive and thriving as we enter 2023 and our 4th year in business in beautiful downtown Grass Valley.

We’re eternally grateful for all of you, for the sweet conversations, the pit stop visits just to say hello, and of course, for each and every purchase that you’ve made this year. We love this place and this amazing community and we’re here to stay!
