Hi friends! A quick update.
My page has been quiet for a hot minute. Winter is generally slow and with a tiny baby and some life stuff, I decided to take a short break until market season picked back up. Which is now! Currently I'm in the process of booking some upcoming markets as well as making new pieces to bring back online, and I will definitely update as soon as listings go live again!
However I do want to discuss some pricing changes going forward.
As you know, there is quite a bit happening right now regarding tariffs and inflation. This has led to a lot of confusion and instability surrounding the price of goods.
Unfortunately, every aspect of the pieces are make are items currently subject to tariffs if shipped internationally. And although I actually purchase most of my product at domestic stores, those stores ship many products from international suppliers. In some cases, there simply isn't a company and/or manufacturer in the country for a particular item. In other cases, there are very few brands/manufacturers in the country and they may not provide the best quality item. In ALL cases of items manufactured in the US however, there will still be internationally imported raw materials because the US no longer has a large supply of raw materials that can be used in manufacturing. Meaning that tariffs are going to exist and be a problem for every product all the way back to the source. How much of a problem simply depends on the materials, the import location, and the manufacturing location.
I have spent a considerable amount of time testing various products to ensure quality. I have no desire to lessen that quality by turning to a local company whose product is cheaper but not necessarily better. I also have no desire to stop supporting other small businesses both domestically and worldwide who have provided me with quality materials and tools I use in every single design.
All of this to say, I have no intention of reducing quality, changing metals to something more reactive to your skin, or giving up working with some absolutely amazing creators wherever they may be located just to keep costs low.
So what does this mean going forward?
Well, I know prices are going to increase. There is absolutely no way possible for my work to not be impacted by tariffs, that's just the unfortunate reality.
What I do NOT yet know is how much my prices will be affected. Perhaps it will be just a few dollars, perhaps it will be more. Everything is still so volatile and changing almost daily it seems. I can order something today expecting to pay a certain amount to customs only to have that amount be drastically higher or lower in a few weeks when it arrives. That's the problem, none of us know and the smaller the business the harder it's going to be because financially we feel the impact harder. Especially when our initial investments come from personal funds.
I just want to ensure transparency going forward. If you've been a repeat customer, you know my prices have been pretty consistent and have only undergone one minor price increase in the past 2 years. So when new products launch, if the prices are higher just know that I'm doing all I can to offset those costs without negatively impacting quality or negatively impacting other small business creators who have made great quality tools so that I can make great quality designs.
I thank you all for understanding and I look forward to bringing you lots of new designs in the weeks to come! ❤️
