Wet walnuts. Do you buy them? They are so expensive. And you get such a tiny jar! Look at my jar!! But look how easy they are to make. I keep walnuts in my freezer for oatmeal so this was a no brainer. I love making things that many don’t think a thing about buying. We run to the store way too much. Everything to make this was right in my kitchen. I made hot fudge sundaes for dessert!!!

Wet Walnuts

1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons butter
1⁄2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups walnuts (whole or chopped) or 2 cups pecans (whole or chopped)

Bring Karo syrup, brown sugar, butter and milk to a slow boil over medium heat, stirring well.
Lightly boil for 5 minutes and then remove from heat.
Add vanilla and nuts, stir well and allow to cool.
Store in the refrigerator.

Just completed a lecture/trunk show and class for the
Carolina Coastal Quilters in Myrtle Beach, SC. What a
great group of quilters. They hosted me to the 9's and
I enjoyed my time with them very much. Looking forward to
a return visit.
